Circus Vargas Pass

(Click image to view full size)

Circus Vargas has a great promotion program a circus pass for any show, any day, with seating in the upper mezzanine. These are actually not bad seats, however most patrons trade the free pass in for a ticket to a reserved seat. That reserved seat of course costs some cash. The very colorful ticket gets a lot of attention and interest. Circus Vargas is a west coast show playing into parts of Arizona, Nevada and as far north as Oregon but for the most part plays the state of California. The spring and early summer are spent in Southern California and by August the show is moving north to central California. This show travels on about 50-trucks and trailers, about 16 or 18 vehicles are show owned the rest are private vehicles. They are out from March to early November.

Circus Vargas Concessions

(Click image to view full size)

The concession trailer is spotted near the enterence of the marquee tent. Lots of bright colors and signage to attract customers. In this photo you can see the portable generator with four lights to brighten up the midway at night. There are several of these generators all show owned. This show does very well in San Diego because many families are attracted from Mexico across the border to see the circus.

Ticket office

The ticket office on the Vargas show is brightly painted to match all of the show owned trucks which number about 16 by my count. Circus Vargas does two shows a day and three a day on Saturday and Sunday.

Petting Zoo side walls up

(Click image to view full size)

This photo was snapped shortly after Arthur's petting zoo was set up in the morning. The sidewalls were not up and the animals were getting some fresh air and people visiting the lot got a chance to look inside without buying a ticket. The vinyl for this tent matches the Vargas big top.
