Hanneford Shows the colors!

Tommy Hanneford commissioned a huge American flag to be hand made for the
2002 Royal Hanneford Circus season. The flag maker was the wife of a circus
flyer who had taken a contract to appear with an act in Paris. The material for
the flag had to be shipped to Paris, France for completion. She hand stiched thousands of sequins to make the red, white and blue
flag. Yes, the entire flag is made of sequins on both sides. The flag was so
heavy when it arrived at the Hanneford winter quarters that the winches the
show owned were not powerful enough to raise it into the air. New and larger
motors were purchsed to acheive the amazing spectacle that the sequined flag
presents when raised at Hanneford shows. The flag is used at both arena and big
top productions. This photo was taken by Frank Gienger in the Tommy Hanneford
Canobbio Big Top.
