A Letter from our President - Clark Beurlen CFA President 2011-2012  Circus Fans Association of AmericaClark Beurlen, President Welcome to the website of the Circus Fans Association of America (CFA). We are one of the leading circus-enthusiast organizations in the world with members from throughout North America and abroad. Our organization has a unique way of bringing together people who love and care about the circus whether they are casual fans or active supporters. CFA is a family-friendly organization that appeals to all age groups. We have members ranging from youth who pursue circus skills as their preferred sport to retirees who wish to support the circus industry so that future generations will be able to enjoy this important part of the performing arts with its great educational value. Our members have a wide variety of circus interests. They enjoy many styles of circuses including traditional tent shows such as Cole Bros. and Carson & Barnes, modern arena circuses such as Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey and Shrine circuses, and “new” circuses such as Cirque du Soleil and Cirque Dreams. Our members have varied interests including circus history, circus model building, circus music, clowning, carnivals, amusement parks, magic, railroads, performing arts, and more. Many of our members are currently employed in the circus industry. The Circus Fans Association of America serves as an umbrella organization to bring together anyone and everyone interested in any aspect of the circus. Two important benefits of CFA membership are communication and information. Members receive The White Tops, a full-color magazine filled with photos, news, circus reviews, and circus articles. Be sure to peruse the sample copy on this website or to request a free preview copy to be mailed to your home. The White Tops is a world-class publication that we know you will enjoy. In addition, CFA offers this and other websites, a Facebook page, and other forms of instant communication about our circus interests. CFA members are also offered social benefits. Members of local groups called “Tents” or “Tops” attend circus events together, host meetings and meals with circus speakers and activities, and help the circus community in any way possible. Once a year an exciting national CFA convention takes place in a major U.S. city. In 2012, the convention will be held in Tampa, Florida, April 19-21. All of these activities help our members to develop closer friendships with each other and with circus people everywhere.
