2003 CFA Convention-Bull Room

(Click image to view full size)

A fun part of a CFA convention is the Bull Room where fans can purchase circus memorabilia. It is a circus flea market. Shown here is Amos Bolieu of Manchester, New Hampshire. Amos had a unique sales strategy. He told you to pick out what you wanted and tell him what you would be willing to pay. That was the deal. I wondered what would happen if someone told Amos 50 cents?

2003 CFA Convention Jacqualin Zerbini

(Click image to view full size)

The convention program featured a session called "Down Memory Lane" where former and present circus performers gave talks on their experiences in the circus. A fan favorite was Jacqualin Zerbini who told of her first experience coming to America as teenager to perform in the Mills Bros. Circus. She wasn't impressed with the cold weather at the Mills Bros. Circus winter quarters located at the Ashtabula County Fair Grounds at Jefferson, Ohio.
