| Some trainers get credit for training animals that were trained by others. There is a big difference between a trainer and a performer. You don't read too much about them. There are some well kept secrets in the circus about this. As long as its good for the show let it be. We know who the real trainers are. |

| A sad update is needed here. The Hertzberg Circus Collection, late of San Antonio, and familiar to me since 1957, has closed. The fabled and valuable collection now sits in crates in the basement of San Antonio's Witte Museum, and is described as "Not Available" to researchers. Roger Smith |

| I am searching for more information on training differences in US and Europe in the 1930s, specifically lions. Can anyone point me in that direction? I would also be interested in meeting with/talking to a lion tamer. Any resources? |
