Circus model builder Tom Persell photographed the Kelly Miller Circus on a very tight lot August 2 in Minerva, Ohio's city park. His Knights of Columbus had sponsored the show the previous day in Massillon, Ohio, and Tom drove to Minerva to deliver some newspapers that had covered the circus in Massillon. The big top was on a ball diamond, the ticket wagon on the other side of the outfield fence. Trucks were parked wherever there was room. Tom said he asked owner John Ringling North II where they kept the shoehorn. "It's a secret." Photo by Tom Persell.
