Tent plans busy fall season.
Jack Belles of the Felix Adler-Paul Binder Tent, CFA, announces the following news, events, and updates for a busy autumn of activity:
ADLER/BINDER TENT FALL 2010 ACTIVITIES
The CFA national convention in Grand Rapids, MI, is scheduled for September 17 – 21, 2010. We hope to see many of you there.
Led
by the chairman Henry Pearce, the 2011 convention committee for our own
2011 convention in Newburgh, NY, next August will be pitching it at the
final business meeting. We’re ready to roll! Registration forms will be available and you can reserve your room at Knights Inn, near Stewart International Airport. Some exciting events are being planned. Details to be announced.
But exciting events are also being planned for the A/B Tent members this fall!
SEPTEMBER 22, DRESS REHEARSAL OF THE BIG APPLE CIRCUS, MANVILLE, NJ.
The
staff of the BAC is again providing us fans with complimentary tickets
to their dress rehearsal before their opening the next day. Manville, near Somerville, NJ, just off I 287, is a new venue, replacing Bridgewater, NJ. Maxine will have approximate 25 tickets. Contact her by e-mail (mahouse@verizon.net) or phone (201 337-5950) to reserve one or more for you. Note that this event follows close on the heels of the GR convention! SEPTEMBER 25, ALAIN ZERBINI CIRCUS PIZZA PARTY, RIVERVALE, NJ.
When the Zerbini Circus is scooting around northern NJ, tent members enjoy hosting a pizza party for them. The Zerbini staff loves it! Julius Carallo shared this date with us for the location of our party. You’re encouraged to join tent members to see the show and then “dine” with the performers and staff. We ask for a $10 donation to cover some of our costs. Contact Maxine – Jack will be marching with his Drum & Bugle Corps that day!
OCTOBER 16, EMMETT KELLY TENT BANQUET
Quite a number of A/B members annually attend the Emmett Kelly Tent banquet in Hagerstown, MD. Evi Kelly-Lenz will be the guest speaker at the October 16 festivities, Plaza Hotel, Hagerstown.
For the last four years we’ve held 2011 convention planning sessions with members of the Forepaugh/Lubin Tent. We will do so again at 1 PM in David Orr’s suite. The F/L Tent is going to handle the sales and the auction at the NY convention! If you’re attending the banquet, you’re invited to the convention-planning meeting!
OCTOBER 23, THE KICKOFF BANQUET OF THE ADLER/BINDER TENT, PARAMUS, NJ
Surely you already have this date on your calendar. Paul Binder himself will be there! Reserve early – space in the room is limited!
NOVEMBER 7, CONVENTION PLANNING SESSION, MAXINE’S HOME
A chance to catch up with convention planning and become an active member!
