TOP AND TENT NEWSLETTER COMPETITION WINNERS ANNOUNCED AT SEATTLE CONVENTION

Wednesday, July 27, 2005 - Seattle, WA
The Ohio Sells Bros. Top No. 15 and The Joel W. Warner Top No. 20 earned top awards.

During the first general business session at the 2005 Circus Fans Association of America Seattle Convention, the Director of Public Relations and Media presented awards to the winners of the 2005 Top and Tent Newsletter Competition. Limbach said, “The Public Relations Committee is very pleased with the 12 entries received. All entries were special and represent a lot of effort on the part of Tops and Tents to keep their memberships informed of Top and Tent activities. The judges had a very hard time selecting the winners of the competition.”

The judges for the competition were Clark Beurlen, Mort Gamble,Phd and Lynn Limbach. Awards were presented for Tops and Tents.

Two outstanding Top Newsletters were submitted. The Ohio Sells Bros. Top No. 15 was recognized for having the MOST INGENIOUS LAYOUT AND DESIGN and the MOST OUTSTANDING ALL AROUND TOP NEWSLETTER. The Joel W. Warner Top No. 20 was recognized as the MOST NEWSWORTHY and for having the MOST STUPENDOUS CONTENT.

In the tent newsletter completion the MOST OUTSTANDING ALL AROUND TOP NEWSLETTER was awarded to the Martin Down Ring/Fred Logan Tent No. 119. The MOST NEWSWOTHY tent newsletter was won by the Charlie Smith Tent No. 131. The Maine CFA Tent No. 30 Minert DeOrlo-Earl Family-Wayne McCary won the MOST INGENIOUS LAYOUT and DESIGN award. The Adam Forepaugh Barry Lubin Tent No. 2 was awarded the MOST STUPENDOUS CONTENT award.

HONORABLE MENTION CERTIFICATES were presented to Circus Smirkus-Tim Holst Tent No. 171, The Showfolks of Sarasota Tent No. 122, Ian M. Garden Jr. Tent No. 174, Pedro Carillo Tent No. 145, Father Edward S. Sullivan Tent No. 118 and Bluch Landolf-Father Jack Toner Tent No. 24.


The Public Relations Committee has announced that the Top and Tent Newsletter Competition will be repeated for 2005-2006. Watch the White Tops and CFA Web Site for details.
