Second Annual Top and Tent Newsletter Competition

Edward Limbach, Chair of the Circus Fans Association of America (“CFA”) Public Relations Committee, has announced that the committee is going to sponsor the second annual Top and Tent Newsletter Competition.

CFA PUBLIC RELATIONS COMMITTEE ANNOUNCES

SECOND ANNUAL TOP AND TENT NEWSLETTER COMPETION FOR 2006

Edward Limbach, Chair of the Circus Fans Association of America (“CFA”) Public Relations Committee, has announced that the committee is going to sponsor the second annual Top and Tent Newsletter Competition. Limbach said, “Judging by the response the 2005 contest there is an interest in this activity and presents another opportunity for Tops and Tents to be involved in CFA.” Twelve Tops and Tents participated in the 2005 competition.

The 2006 contest will follow the process developed for the 2005 competition. Winners will be announced at the 2006 CFA convention in Chicago. Judges for the 2006 competition are Connie Thomas, Dayton, Ohio; Shirley Adams, Sarasota, Florida; and Pat Pagel, Howell, Michigan.

WAIT for the second Big Contest! Don’t You Dare Miss It?

The Public Relations Committee of the CFA invites submissions of local Top and Tent newsletters in an Amazing and Thrilling Contest That will Delight, Entertain and Instruct Circus Fans from around the USA!

There are 3-Count’em, THREE -Rules to Consider

  1. All newsletter entries must be received for consideration by June 30, 2006 and be

submitted with four copies. Failure to provide four copies will disqualify the entry. Mail entries to Edward W. Limbach, 332 Inwood Trail, Aurora, Ohio 44202.

2…Tops and Tents may submit as many examples of their newsletters as they wish;

however, all submissions will be judged by the same criteria: Originality,

Creativity, and Applicability to the mission, programs and public relations needs

of the Circus Fans Association of America. Newsletters for competition must be

submitted with four copies.

  1. Prizes will be awarded in the following categories: Most Newsworthy; Most Ingenious Layout and Design; Most Stupendous Content; And Last but not Least…Most Outstanding All-Around Newsletter!!!

Now, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, please direct your attention to the following three points:

a) All submissions must be clearly labeled with Tent/Top Name, editor’s contact

name, address, and phone and/or email.

b) All submissions will become the property of the Public Relations Committee, and its extensive, educational, and world-renowned archive of Circusiana.

c) The decisions of the judges are final, conclusive, and definitive, in keeping with the best traditions of Circus arts and letters developed, believe it or not, over the last 200 Years of Circus in America!!

And now, hurry just a little, and submit your newsletters without delay, hesitation,

or procrastination. Now is the time to go if you are going… step right up for the

Great Tent and Top Newsletter Contest!!
