Tampa, FL (December 16, 2005) – Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey today announced its
partnership with the Department of Defense’s America Supports You program, established to showcase and communicate America’s support for its military
forces.
Signing on
as an official Corporate Team Member will expand Ringling Bros.’ long-standing relationship with the military in the
form of special ticket offers, personal appearances on military installations,
fund raising opportunities, special recognition of military members during its
performances, and in-show promotion.
Procedures will also be in place to extend the ticket offers to members
of the Reserve and
National Guard and to retired military members throughout the country.
“We proudly
join an impressive roster that includes many of America’s largest and most prestigious
corporations,” said Kenneth Feld, Chairman and CEO of Ringling Bros.’ parent,
Feld Entertainment, Inc. “It’s a special
honor and privilege to lift the spirits and create indelible memories for America’s armed forces and their
families. As we travel through America, we are uplifted when we cross
paths with good friends from the military.”
Allison
Barber, Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Public Affairs said, “We are
grateful for the support that Ringing Bros. gives our military members
and their families, especially their children. This initiative helps
demonstrate to our military men and women strong home front support, which is
so important to them and their loved ones, particularly during the holidays.”
Ringling Bros. has been a long-time supporter of America’s military community, developing a
unique face-to-face relationship that has allowed the company to express its
support and gratitude to the brave men and women who serve and protect the
country. In the past, Ringling Bros. has donated tickets to
military families and for auction fundraisers.
Ringling Bros. clowns and
performers have engaged in outreach to youth and child development centers,
libraries and hospitals to make sure children who don’t have the means to go to
a show, get to enjoy the magic of the circus.
Ringling Bros. has also
arranged video greeting programs for military families to send messages to
deployed loved ones.
