Forepaugh - Lubin Tent was pleased when Paul Gutheil, well known CFA photographer and Forepaugh-Lubin tent member won 1st PRIZE in the Emmett Kelly 60th Anniversary Banquet - Al Thomas Memorial color photo contest.
The announcement was made by Dan Rohrer, Kelly tent member on October 15, 2005 during the banquet that was held at the Plaza Hotel - Hagerstown, MD. Winning photo featured "Grandma" as Mary Poppins in the current 28th Edition of the Big Apple Circus "Grandma Goes To Hollywood" presenting appearing at Lincoln Center, New York. BAC rolls out the red carpet for its celebrated superstar "Grandma" and brings celluloid dreams into the circus ring. Barry Lubin came up with the title "Grandma Goes To Hollywood" and no doubt the star of the current edition. The November 18, 2005 issue of Circus Report page 6 has an article by Dan Rohrer and accompaning award winning picture. I have yet to see Paul take any money from performers and fans for the many pictures he has taken and given away....Paul is a true Circus Fan. .
