All monies collected at the Convention will be given to the OABA CIRCUS FUND in the name of the 2006 CFA Chicago Convention in memory of Tommy Hanneford “The Riding Fool” and "America's Greatest Circus Fan."
Not since Mills Bros. Circus has any other circus owner or owners booked their circus in conjunction with the CFA Convention multiple times. Tommy did it on six occasions between 1990 and 2003. The most recent was Wayne McCary’s BIG-E in 2003. For the 1994 CFA Convention Tommy set up his Big Top on the Circus World Museum – Baraboo, WI parking lot. “The Funniest Man on Horseback” made a surprise appearance in the ring. In the attire he had long before made famous, he sprang to the back of a cantering horse. He then performed the coat swing-around routine for the last time. He concluded his CFA command performance with the final “step off” from a moving horse. Raffle prizes will be awarded on the last day of the convention. Anonymous donor will match the first $250.00 donated making at least $500.00 to the OABA Circus Fund. Stop by the OABA Raffle Display Table in the Convention BULL ROOM and pick up your raffle tickets. Hope to see you Sept. 6-10 in Chicago. Info: dpowhitetiger@aol.com Special Credit: BANDWAGON
