Ask NOT what CFA can do for YOU....ask what YOU can do for CFA!
How many folks have you asked to join the CFA this year?
The CFA National Membership Committee had every member present and accounted for at the National Convention in Chicago last week. A poolside meeting was called to to conduct business following an agenda that had been established via computer meetings in the weeks before Chicago. Your new National CFA Membership Committee consists of Gary C. Payne, Chairman, David P. Orr, Barbara Kopf, Cherie Valentine, and Sara Gordon. Ex Officio members in attendance include Dr. Don Curtis, and Cheryl Deptula. All committee members were present in Chicago. Also attending the meeting were White Tops Co-Editor John Wells, and Ed Limbach. The committee reviewed it's responsibilities according to the CFA Policys and Procedures. It's members had already established a desire to be highly pro-active. The general membrship should be aware that not one of us sees their seat on this committee as an honoraria, nor desires such position. This will be a working committee seeking the ways and means to increase the roles and potential of CFA Membership. A lively meeting established actionable items to set the future path of CFA's National Membership down a well arrowed route towards grassy lots and straw houses. The committee has already begun to put their plans in motion. You can communicate directly with the committee any suggestions you might like to make or volunteer your efforts to help us in building our numbers. Send Email to Gary C. Payne for forwarding to all ( ptgcp@aol.com) or call Gary @ 860-833-7925. Look for membership recruiting materials, improvments in the application and retention of members, and a more agressive effort to publicize the CFA. Expect to be recruited as a recruiter! The committee concluded it's Chicago meeting by "drawing a line in the sand". At your next CFA Tent meeting you might add an item of NEW BUSINESS. The agressive recruiting of new members as part of a National Membership Drive!
