Tent members received a big surprise when they became aware that The Tyrone, PA
Chamber of Commerce Visitors Guide featured the May 30, 1893, Walter L. Main
Train Wreck in their Guide.
Thanks to Susie O'Brien, Tent President a short
story and picture of the train wreck can be found on page ten. It mentions that
a monument was placed at the train wreck site to commemorate the tragic
event. The article went on to say that Circus Fans of America hold a memorial
service at the site each year. The Forepaugh-Lubin Train Wreck Memorial Service
will be held May 28, 2008.
Circus Fans that might be attending the Fall
Forepaugh-Lubin Tent Meeting - +Sunday, September 23, 2007, are encouraged to
come early and check out the train wreck site.
