producer of side show banners
From approximately 1840 to 1940, the sideshow enjoyed its greatest popularity. This popularity created a growing need for more banners. Banners were compared to shop signs advertising their inner content. Showmen insisted on banners because of their appeal to the public with their bright colors, sensational subject matter, and their versatility in weather conditions. Regardless of size, banners were easily rolled up and transported without the aid of any heavy mechanical equipment.
