Circus Maniacs - School

http://www.circusmaniacs.com

School, Act Agency, Corporate Events Circus Maniacs teach a wide variety of circus skills to practically all ages. Skills Our speciality is in all forms of aerial acrobatics. We believe that if students have the opportunity to start studying the performing arts while still at school then they can develop the physical and mental skills in tandem. We aim to provide the opportunity for young artistes to reach school leaving age with all the skill and knowledge to go and perform at once. Artform We encourage the development of skills into an artform. As with dance we teach movement as a method of expression. Both the 'trick' and the choreography can be expressed in circus performance. All our students are encouraged to develop routines for display so that they can understand what it is to hold the audience's attention. Training Warmup, excercises and attention to safety in class are of real importance to Circus Maniacs. The very nature of Circus requires that the performer is tested to extremes - but this must be done safely. Circus Maniacs only employs qualified Acrobatics coaches so that demanding excercises such as ''walk-overs' and tumbling are practiced with the minimum risk of injury. Safety All equipment provided by Circus Maniacs is tested and checked. Our aerial equipment is always rigged and checked by practicing circus performers. Our high tension fixings are all rated to 2,500 Kg for extra safety. Circus Maniacs is a member and plays an active role in RICSAC. We have trained first aiders and staff qualified in... Tuition At present classes are primarily spread across evenings and weekends with short courses running as advertised. In 2002 we have teachers specialising in Trapeze, Corde Lisse, Tissu, Acrobatics, Chinese Pole & Juggling. We also teach Tightwire, Unicycling, Stilts and so on.
