Circus/Physical Theatre School
The Dell'Arte Company is one of the longest running actor-managed resident ensembles in the U.S. The Company has an unmatched history of creating original work, earning an outstanding international reputation for its extraordinary physical performance style seen at numerous world festivals and U.S.tours. Dell'Arte's core members -- Artistic Directors Joan Schirle, Michael Fields and Donald Forrest, with Resident Director Jael Weisman -- have been creating collaboratively since 1977, winning acclaim for work that is full-bodied, intelligent and richly entertaining.
School of Physical Theatre remains the only one of its kind in the U.S., offering full-time training in physical theatre, the creation of original work and related skills. The School's intensive one year Professional Actor Training Program, its summer workshops and Dell'Arte Abroad program offer dynamic training in the work of the actor / creator. Please note: Dell'Arte is applying for approval to begin a MFA in Physical Theatre/Ensemble in the fall of 2002.
