SATA is a non-profit incorporated association which aims to promote circus & aerial theatre. We run quality, fun, imaginative workshops and performances in trapeze, rope and aerial skills, for adults and children.
Teachers
Aimee Thomas
Aimee studied BA in Educational Theatre in Adelaide before training at Circus Oz for a year. She was given an award to study at 'Circomedia School of Physical Theatre' in England, and then worked in a variety of traditional and new circus, opera and physical theatre companies in Europe and Arnica. She co-founded Aerialize - innovation in the Air, through which she currently performs in Sydney.
Shelalagh McGovern
Shelalagh has a background in Theatre and Gymnastics. She was a member of the Bathurst Theatre Players and competed in state gymnastic championships, representing the Eastern Suburbs School of Gymnastics. Shelalagh studied a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre and Languages at the University of NSW. She trained on swinging trapeze with Rita from Redirected Baggage, Melbourne. Shelalagh has been training and performing as an aerialist for three years and recently co-founded Aerialize - Innovations in the Air, an aerial theatre company.
Bernard Bru
Bernard has been teaching and performing trapeze for over 20 years. He has learnt from some of the top aerial schools in France and Montreal. Bernard also studied clowning in France with Gaullier
