DISTRICT DIRECTOR’S ANNUAL REPORT

Harry Kingston/District 13

There are no active CFA tops or tents in this 3 state district.
We had the same number of circuses that we had last year except that we got Piccadilly Circus and it was a great circus and Dick and Zack Garden and they were very gracious to us fans.
Carson and Barnes had a great opening and lots of people and many of the towns and Kelly Miller came even closer to my area.

CFA District 14 Report, 2010-2011

Niles (Buddy) Calhoun, District Director

There was one new youth member this year in District 14.  However, there was an overall loss of members in District 14 which includes Alabama, Mississippi, and Tennessee.   A couple of prospective new members from this district have been discovered.

Although there was some activity in the region, there were no reports of any active tent activity.  No new tents have been activated.

Some effort has been made to select State Chairpersons who would take on some state Top responsibility.  As of this date, there is no Top activity.

Various circuses slip into the district, but many CFA members are not aware of them due to lack of circus advertising.   Members do attempt to support any shows known to be in their area.

Some Shrine Circus activity in Tennessee draws the support of  CFA members, and some District members give presentations for local clubs, etc.  Primary and most involving activity of the members seems to be reading the White Tops.

2011 CFA DISTRICT 15 REPORT

by Glenn Goggin, District 15 Director

Three new members were added to the CFA roster last year who live in our region.

The only active Tent in District 15 is the historic Kay Brothers Tent which is based in the Richmond-Petersburg area of Virginia. Officers include President David Conant and Secretary-Treasurer Robert Spivey.

The Kay Tent hosted their annual holiday gathering on December 4th at the Discovery United Methodist Church in Richmond, VA. The guest speaker was the Kay Tent’s own David Conant who regaled the audience with his recent adventures traveling with the George Carden Circus. The Carden show is headquartered in Springfield, MO and mostly plays Shrine dates. They own thirteen elephants, one of which is Bo, the largest mammal on tour in North America.

The Kay Tent hosts a photo and video sharing program which has proven to be very popular. The tent wants to publicize the fact that they will transfer any CFA members circus-related photos, slides, 35mm negatives, or VHS tapes to DVD format so that they can be more easily shared with fellow Circus Fans. The only charge for this great service is the postage to mail it to the tent’s Secretary-Treasurer, Robert Spivey. You can call Robert at 804-733-9440 or email him at rlsjbs@comcast.net for more information.

District Director 16

Beverly Rudynoff Gebhardt

2010 -2011 We received new membership as follows:  Florida 15, Georgia 1
and North Carolina had 0 and their were 2 reinstated in Florida.

The two active Tents are Showfolks of Sarasota #122 which meet October through May and Hoxie Tucker and Bob and Mary Jo Couls  #137.  Happy to report that Tent #127 Rudy & Erna Rudynoff Tent was transferred from Maryland to Florida and have become active with the first meeting   in July and proud to say the guest speaker was Grandma (Barry Lubin), from the Big Apple Circus.

Aurelia Nock from Tent 122 was so delighted with her son, Bella who took the Golden Clown award from Monaco
