The Oklahoma Historical Society has published an oral history of the Miller family.

The historical journal CHRONICLES OF OKLAHOMA examines the influence of D.R. Miller on the American Circus.

The extensive article by historians Juliana Nykolaiszyn and Tanya Finchum is entitled "D.R. Miller: A Man Who Brought the Circus to Town" and is illustrated with photographs from the Society archive, some of which have not been published before.
