http://www.tojt.com

Puppeteers in Theaters & Schools HISTORY Tears of Joy Theatre began in Hawaii in 1971. In 1973, founders Reg and Janet Bradley returned to the Portland area, operating the theatre initially as a sole proprietorship. In 1980 Tears of Joy reorganized as a not for profit corporation and was granted 501 c (3) status by the IRS. The company currently has a board of eight that meets monthly. Tears of Joy quickly became known for its programs that toured throughout Oregon and Washington. In 1978, tour support from the Western States Arts Foundation propelled the company into touring throughout the West. The touring programs of the company currently serve over 300,000 people annually. The majority of these performances are performed as school assembly programs. The theatre also performs abroad at International festivals and it has toured several times throughout Canada
